Bringing young people back together through music - No Identity Choir

We are proud to announce our latest grant recipients - No Identity (NoID)

The Sarah Nulty Power of Music Foundation have provided funding to allow NoID to subsidise their activities as they rebuild their choir after the effects of lockdowns. They are delighted to be able to continue to make the choir free of charge for anyone experiencing hardship who wishes to take part as they move back to an in-person group. NoID makes a very small charge for weekly meetings which can be waived in cases of hardship for weekly rehearsals to cover the room rental.

NoID stimulates creativity and builds skills by encouraging young people to work together and sing in harmony. The choir create their own arrangements and accompany each other on keyboards and other band instruments, performing wherever possible. The aim of NoID workshops is to make everyone feel comfortable and to bring mindfulness and improve mental well being. NoID is free and inclusive, breaking down any barriers to attending.

The group has also been working with local musicians such as Joe Gree, Jack Chapman and Martin Thiselton who have been supporting the choir as it grows.

As part of rebuilding the group since lockdown, they are hoping to attract more young people to the group. The grant from the foundation is supporting NoID to do this.
