Rite Trax has been awarded their second grant from the Foundation, recognising their continued impact and commitment to supporting vulnerable adults and fostering grassroots music culture.
Rite Trax is dedicated to supporting young people, vulnerable adults, musicians, artists, and creatives. They strive to create an accessible, sustainable, and supportive platform for grassroots and underground music culture. This mission is realised through inclusive events, workshops, and targeted interventions, engaging both aspiring and established artists, as well as vulnerable adults and young people.
The grant will support an ongoing program of music provision specifically designed for vulnerable adults in Sheffield. Through this initiative, participants engage in one-to-one sessions where they can develop skills in playing instruments, music production, performance, DJing, and more. Each session is customised to the unique needs of the individuals, ensuring that the support provided is both relevant and effective.
Beneficiaries of the program gain access to industry-standard equipment and receive personalised instruction from knowledgeable and experienced staff, all led by an organisation that understands the challenges faced by its participants through lived experience. This combination of professional resources and empathetic support is crucial to the success of the program.
This program forms part of a larger ongoing project, which is already partially funded by Sheffield City Council and South Yorkshire Housing Association. Additional support from this grant will allow Rite Trax to continue offering tailored music education to those who need it most, helping participants to develop their skills, build confidence, and find a sense of community through music If you would like to find out more about them you can follow them on Rite Trax
